Program changes since last review
[Updated June 2026] Several structural changes to Microsoft Rewards have rolled out since this doc was last reviewed. The search trigger phrases below remain valid, but the program context has shifted in a few important ways.
- New tier system (Jan 2026, rolling out by region): Microsoft is replacing the Level 1 / Level 2 model with Member / Silver / Gold tiers in Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, and others. The US is expected to follow. Daily search point caps have changed under the new system — check your dashboard for your current region’s limits.
- Daily Set points reduced (March 2026): Microsoft cut points for the middle Daily Set task across multiple regions. The middle task previously awarded 30 points; values now vary by region. Daily Sets still earn but slightly less than before.
- STAR Bonus added (2026): A new passive bonus for consistent, natural Bing use over time. Points post at the start of the following month. No specific search quota required.
- Suspension risk increased: Microsoft’s AI-based activity monitoring became significantly stricter in 2025–2026. Repeated identical searches, browser automation, and VPN use now trigger reviews more readily. Limit searches to around three every 15 minutes and use genuine varied queries. A suspended account loses all points permanently with no appeal.
- Direct Game Pass redemption removed: Points can no longer be redeemed directly for Game Pass. In-console Xbox currency redemption is expected later in 2026.

[Updated June 2026] Do not repeat the same trigger phrase multiple times in quick succession. Microsoft's activity monitoring is significantly stricter than it was when this list was compiled. Use triggers naturally and mix them with other genuine searches.
